About Us
The Malaysian World Schools Debate Education Society (MWSDES) also known as WSDC Team Malaysia is a non-profit organization established to manage, fund, train, and sustainably develop the national debate team that represents Malaysia at the annual World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC). Our organization’s patron is the Ministry of Education of Malaysia. We work collaboratively with them to design programs and content for students and teachers across Malaysia.
As an affiliate of the World Schools Debating Championships, we aim to develop critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentation skills in young Malaysians through competitive debate tournaments and training workshops. Our mission is to create a community of confident and competent debaters who can engage in reasoned and respectful discourse on a variety of topics.

What We Do
We organize various events and training programs to help young debaters hone their critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentation skills. Our flagship program is the World Schools Debating Championships, where teams from around the world compete against each other in a series of debates on complex and timely issues. Additionally, we conduct workshops, seminars, and camps for debaters of all ages and levels of experience.
We manage the Malaysian National English Debate Team.
We select and train Team Malaysia, the national debate team and the national public speaking team, to compete at World Schools Championships
We host national and original international debate competitions all year long.
We host the annual Malaysian National Schools competition for the WSDC and WIDPSC format
We organize outreach events for students, teachers and the general public.
We organise workshops, roadshows, competitions and events to develop the Malaysian schools debate community, and to fundraise to support Team Malaysia’s journey.
We offer debate training online, in-person and self-paced courses.
